Raymond Inauen is creating a series of light-hearted chats about CO2 and climate at his blog World of CO2. These are conversing in plain language apart from technical complexities. An example is above from the first four at the Youtube channel Conrad – The World of CO₂
These chats are also available at Raymond’s website World of CO2 Conrad
This is a work in progress and more content is forthcoming, and he is hoping to get suggestions for future videos. Thanks Raymond for opening up a new form of communicating about these matters.

Hi Ron
Thanks for posting this on your blog! Conrad really appreciates it! I came up with the idea for Conrad after doing my podcast with Tom Nelson. I realised that we didn’t have a mascot representing the benefits of CO₂ for the plant world. Then I had the idea: why not create a leaf character to represent plants and promote the benefits of CO₂?
After seeing my posts with Conrad, Forrest Frantz from Clintel and his team contacted me. Following a few discussions, we decided to develop a plan using Conrad. I’ve spent the last three months working on short animations, and we launched this past weekend. I would also like to thank David and Patrick for their help and support in spreading the word about Conrad.
Conrad takes a light-hearted approach to reaching a wider audience by using humour and basic science that everyone can understand. The years of negative publicity surrounding CO₂ present a real challenge for Conrad to counter. The public is unable to grasp the complexities of climate and climate change. This is an attempt to win back some sympathy for a more balanced approach to science, without doomsday messaging.
My goal is to release a new animation every week. That’s a lot, since each animation is a real challenge.
